Brittany and Carl’s Next Day Edit
Carl and Brittany are from Australia. They flew over to New Zealand to have a low key wedding with select family in attendance. You could almost call it an elopement but elopements don’t usually involve so many people. All the same it had the relaxed and easy going vibe of an elopement. It was perfectly matched with my Next Day Edit. Brittany and Carl were able to share the video with everyone back home the very next day. Watch the finished video here.
Brittany and Carl were married at The Church of the Good Shepherd in Tekapo, which is just about the cutest church you can imagine. They had also hired Chris from Focus Photography who I’d be working with for the third time that summer, Yay!
Brittany and Carl got ready in hotels around the corner from one another and this made it super easy to visit them both in the morning. Chris and I took Brittany’s dress down to the lake’s edge to get some great shots of the wedding dress with the gorgeous Tekapo backdrop.
It was a good thing Brittany and Carl had keep such a short guest list as the Church of the Good Shepherd isn’t exactly roomy! It sure does look beautiful in photos. 😊
Typically with a Next Day Edit I don’t capture the hugs and kisses that follow the ceremony, simply because there isn’t room in the video to do those moments justice. But they are some of my favourite parts of the day so it was great that I could include all of Brittany and Carl’s family who were there for the wedding.
Brittany, Carl, Chris and I carpooled as we drove around Lake Tekapo in search of some spots for photos (which were not at all hard to find 😁).
I got the above shot as we were driving. The shot starts with a view out of the car on the road and the focus shifts to Carl’s hand on the wheel while he looks briefly at his new wedding ring. It’s a one in a million fluke that I was recording and pulling focus right as Carl examined his finger. But that’s the magic I’m always looking for. 😁😊
With Chris at the helm and some incredible weather we had a wonderful time exploring Lake Tekapo getting photos. My favourite moment however was when Brittany asked if we should be worried about snakes in the long grass. 😆😆😆
After the photos Brittany and Carl headed out for dinner with their family and the day was done for me and Chris. I headed back to Christchurch and before too long Brittany and Carl’s Next Day Edit was ready to watch!!
Here’s what Brittany had to say about my service:
Thanks for the kind words Brittany, thank you for having me to capture your wedding day, it was a privilege and an honour.
Cheers
