Chanel and Nick's Wedding in Oamaru
Chanel and Nick were married in early January in Oamaru. The day was relaxed and down to earth right from the very start with Chanel and Nick spending time together that morning. My favourite shot of the day was Nick and Chanel sitting opposite each other drinking their morning coffee, after all isn’t this what it’s all about. 🥹🥹🥹 Beautiful Bride Dunedin did Chanel’s hair and makeup that morning at the stunning Stylish Stays homestead in Oamaru. After dressing and a quick first look Chanel grabbed her Kakariki Flowers and we popped over the road to the Oamaru botanical gardens for some photos with Photographer Brogan of Kiwi Captures, from there we headed to Chanel’s sisters home for their awesome backyard ceremony, Celebrant Sally Cattle kicked things off at 4pm. it was a hot hot day and Chanel and Nick had a lot of guests tuning in via live stream. After some nibbles and drinks in the sun things moved indoors to a marquee from Happy Hire Otago, Mobile food truck, That Food Guy served up a delicious meal and after some speeches we were all treated to a stunning dance medley for Chanel and Nick’s first dance, shout out to Ash Robinson of Ballroom and Bridals in Sydney in who choreographed and coached Chanel and Nick. DJ Gravity Events had everyone up and dancing by the time I was wrapping up and heading back to my motel to finish editing the Next Day Film you can watch below.
Here’s Chanel and Nick had to say about my services
‘Both having many years of event management experience, we can say, without a doubt, that Rowan is an extraordinary professional! From 10am to almost 10pm, he subtly and seamlessly wove in and out of our wedding day activities--from the fun and informal preparations with family and friends, to the photo sessions, ceremony, reception and first dance--and then produced an incredibly professional highlights reel that beautifully and perfectly captured our experience of the day. And he sent it to us BEFORE 8am the following day--unheard of for that calibre of work. Rowan also worked so brilliantly with our wedding photographer, you'd think they had collaborated regularly. And we were particularly impressed that he even attended our rehearsal the day before to get familiarity with the site, celebrant and wedding party.
While videography may seem like an expensive add-on for a wedding, the return on investment on Rowan's work is exceptional and the results priceless. The highlights reel captures the essence of the day in such a way that far-flung family and friends, who couldn't attend in person, can feel part of it, while also making it very easy to relive the magic over and over (which we have done!). The additional footage of ceremony, speeches and first dance provides more in-depth coverage of key moments. Rowan was also the only videographer we approached who offered livestreaming of the ceremony as part of the package--which was initially our whole intention of finding a videographer!
To top it all off, Rowan is so genuinely sweet and lovely, it feels like you invited him as one of your favourite guests <3
Thank you so much, Rowan - we couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience!!’

‘Thank you so much, Rowan - we love it!!!!! 💖😄🥳
We had a post-wedding BBQ to quickly organise yesterday and then we finally had to have very long naps! But I’ve already managed to watch it a few times in spare moments and share it with the bridal party, who also love it 😄
Thank you so much for using the two songs and integrating them so beautifully. I especially love all the shots of my wee flower girls! 💖💖
It was really lovely to have your company on the day, Rowan. Thank you for being part of it and capturing the day so perfectly 💖
