Holly and Caleb’s Wedding at Pemberton Gardens in Prebbleton
Holly and Caleb had their Wedding in October, I came onboard to make them a Wedding Film and do their Photography. Sean Joyce married them and DJ Pulse provided lawn games and great music for the evening.

Holly and the bridesmaids got ready at the homestead behind the main Pemberton venue and right next to their ceremony site.
So Holly had absolutely no excuse to be late 😜😁
While it gently rained outside, I spent the morning capturing a supremely chilled out close knit group of friends, some books were read and some dances were danced.
If you’re getting married at Pemberton and are tempted to stay at the homestead, I say, go for it. It’s a super comfortable, well lit, beautiful building that sets you up metres from your ceremony but in a way that’s totally invisible to your guests. Pemberton rules.
I caught up with Caleb and the groomsmen while they got ready and after a quick game of ping pong we went over the fence to the park next door with some beers.
After a few photos outside and some 🍆 👂 💍 it was time for Holly to get into her dress. Mum helped her in, and Dad came up to say hi 😊😉.
Then at 3pm it was time to tie the proverbial knot. Sean Joyce is a charming man with a sharp sense of humour, he has the most lovely Irish voice that give Holly and Caleb’s nuptials a delightfully romantic flare.
In order to shoot the ceremony for a Wedding Film, by necessity all my cameras need to be solely recording video. There isn’t room for traditional photography at this point in the day. Well at least not the way I do it. Therefore, all the images here of the ceremony, with the exception of the group photo right at the end, are still images extracted at their original resolution from the video I shot for the film.
🚨Techno Babble Alert!🚨
Eagle eyed readers will notice that the framing (or aspect-ratio), varries from image to image. For my Photo + Video service I shoot ‘uncropped’ on my cameras.
When I edit the wedding film I crop and reframe the shots for a uniform aspect ratio. Then when I extract moments as photos I go back to the full image. This lets content that was primarily captured with video in mind, translate better into stand alone photography. Film tends to favour the use of close up shots while photography favours wider shots that give the image more context in a single frozen moment. Actual photographers may disagree 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️ but that’s my experience of it
Woah, anyway, Holly and Caleb’s Ceremony! Beautiful weather, great colours, broad grins, fun times and kisses!
After smashing out some family group photos Holly and Caleb hung out with their guests for a bit before we grabbed the picnic and headed out for a portrait session with the bridal party
It was a blast taking photos around Pemberton but it was soon time to rejoin the guests. Drinks were spilled, speeches were given, laughs were had and cakes were cut. To start the evening in style Holly and Caleb wowed everyone with a thrilling dance medley.
And then, as all good things do, the day came to an end. For me at least 😊 😊 😊
But with DJ Pulse at the wheel I can only asume the dancing continued well into the night.
Here’s what Holly and Caleb had to say about my services…
We got married in October this year. We used Rowan's combined photo and video package, and also had a pre-wedding photo session with him. We have been absolutely blown away by the photos and videos Rowan has done for us. He's captured the true essence of our day and produced some stunning photos which we can't wait to display on our walls. On the day of our pre-wedding shoot it poured with rain almost the entire time! Nevertheless we had so much fun, Rowan was able to put us at ease and produce some great images. Luckily, on our wedding day the sun came through and we had a beautiful day. Rowan was not only great at capturing our day, but was also an awesome helping hand and our videos are truly incredible. We will be recommending Rowan to anyone wanting a wedding video, and that includes you reading this review.
And then here at the end of the blog is Holly and Caleb’s Wedding Film. Enjoy!
Thanks for reading! 😉
Cheers
Rowan
