Emily and Jarryd’s Wedding at French Farm in Akaroa

Emily and Jarryd got married in early February at French Farm Winery in Akaroa. Celebrant Angie Mack helped them tie the knot, Alex Hannah Hairstyling did Emily’s Hair and Anna Turnbull Makeup did the make up. Jonathan Smit captured the day in Photography while I was there to film a Next Day Edit. Check out the video right here:

Everyone got ready at this great big house over looking Akaroa Harbour and Onawe Peninsula. While Jarryd and the groomsmen relaxed downstairs, Emily and her bridesmaids kept each other entertained upstairs. It was too easy checking in with Jarryd by running up and down the stairs throughout the morning. Soon enough Emily was in her dress and once dad had a look we set off for French Farm Winery and the Ceremony.

The view from French farm is just stunning and the weather was on its best behaviour with just the right amount of sun and some beautiful fluffy clouds against a blue sky. Angie Mack saw Emily and Jarryd through and kept everyone entertained as the formalities raced by. Emily and Jarryd also cut their cake right after the ceremony!

After the Ceremony we got a great group photo on the steps of French Farm Winey. While Jono took some family group shots I was free to wander around and capture some shots of the guests including an adorable shot of the page boy eating a grape! 🤣

We got a few bridal party pics onsite at the Winery before jumping in the cars and heading down to the beach for shots with the Akaora heads in the background. The Photoshoot was relaxed and heaps of fun to capture.

Later at French Farm Emily and Jarryd were announced in to thunderous cheers. After dinner and speeches they kicked off the dancing in style.

I stuck around just long enough to get a shot of everyone ripping it up on the dance floor before hoofing it back to Christchurch to get stuck into finishing the Next Day Edit video.

By the next morning I had Emily and Jarryd’s film ready to watch!

Here’s what Emily had to say about my services.

‘If you're in doubt about whether a Videographer is worth it, stop questioning and do it! By far one of the best decisions we made for our day. Rowan was absolutely fantastic. Right from the get go he showed enthusiasm to be a part of our day. He snuck quietly into the background and so all the shots were candid and caught the moment beautifully. He worked alongside out photographer with ease which meant we were able to get the best shots throughout the day. Literally by 10am the next day we had the video, ready to show our guests and share online for those who couldn't be there. The video caught the special moments but also the funny, laughing moments that we may not have seen on the day (busy day for the Bride and Groom!) Rowan, I can not thank you enough. You were a true asset to our wedding and because of you, we now have such a treasured day captured perfectly.’

What an awesome day to be a small part of. I had a blast filming and editing it all 😁
