Amanda and Rukshan's Wedding at Trents Vineyard

Amanda and Rukshan were married in January at Trents Vineyard. They hired me to make them a Wedding Film

Watch their Highlights video below, or their full length wedding film at the end of the blog.

In this blog I’ll be discussing my favourite shots and moments from throughout Amanda and Rukshan’s Wedding Day - all of the images here are from their Wedding Film.

The first thing I noticed when I arrived in the morning was that the bridesmaids had been playing the ‘Game of Life’. I took a bit of artistic licence and got a great opening shot for the video.

Amanda and her bridesmaids had their makeup done by the always amazing Chrystal O’Brien.

Rukshan and his groomsmen got dressed and enjoyed a few drinks before we all headed off to Trent’s Estate Vineyard.

In the upstairs room, once all the groomsmen were together at Trent’s, the drinks continued!

Right before the ceremony began, I got this cool shot of everyone walking together.

The way things worked out in the morning, meant that I went directly from filming Rukshan and the guys to Trent’s to await Amanda’s arrival. My first shot of Amanda in her dress was when she walked down the aisle and I’m really happy with the effect of this in their film. I think it’s cool that the first time we see Amanda in her dress is the same time Rukshan did.

Trent’s Estate Vineyard always looks great.  I really love how Amanda and Rukshan are framed by the archway.

I’ve started filming casual shots of the guests right after the ceremony. It’s now one of my favourite things, it’s a great way to get lots of different faces into the video.

Also how gorgeous is the shot of the red head child resting on her mother’s shoulder 😀

We got a few photos onsite at Trent’s before jumping in the car and heading up to the top of the Port Hills for some incredible views out over Christchurch and Lyttelton - huge thanks and credit to Laura Johns Photography for taking us to these spots and setting up such incredible shots. I was so happy shooting here.

After a few speeches Laura and I got the whole bridal party outside again for a few more photos. We all ended up having a huge amount of fun, everyone was on the same page and we got some of the silliest shots. Everyone was laughing the whole time, it was the best.

Bridal party photos after a few drinks with dinner, who would have thought 😉 🙌🙌🙌

After a few more speeches, Amanda and Rukshan took to the dance floor and thrilled us all with some expertly rehearsed moves. Then everyone got down and sent the night off in style.

I had a blast filming and editing Amanda and Rukshan’s wedding film. Their day was wonderfully fun and the extra photos with the bridal party over dinner was a particular highlight. Working with Laura Johns again was the other. 😀

Here’s what Amanda and Rukshan had to say about my work:
