Holly & Carl’s Wedding | My favorite shots from the film

I’ve combined all my favorite shots and moments from Holly & Carl’s Wedding Film into a short video and a selection of still images.

Holly and Carl were married In Timaru at Castle Claremont. The weather was perfect, sunny without being too hot, with enough breeze to keep everyone cool. I arrived nice and early and spent time getting shots of everyone getting ready.

The interior of Castle Claremont is absolutely beautiful. Holly and the Bridesmaids were getting ready in one of the bigger upstairs bedrooms. There were several big windows on one side of the room that created a spotlight effect inside the room, with big beams of strong sunlight falling off quickly into shadow. Technically speaking it created more than a few challenges, but the final result is undeniably dramatic.

You really have to check this sequence of shots out in Holly and Carl’s film. It was a cool moment that was totally spontaneous. Holly was sitting in the centre of the room getting her hair and make up done by  Blush Beauty Clinic. Her son was sitting watching her and suddenly he scampered forward to get a closer look.  It was a great moment that makes for a great shot.

The oldest flower girl waits patiently.

Holly puts on her wedding dress and she’s ready to go!

Love love love this moment. It must be scary being the first to walk down the aisle!

Castle Claremont Ladies and Gentlemen 👏 👏 👏  Stunning backdrop for a stunning bridal party.  I’m also such a sucker for a freshly mown lawn with lines all going in the same direction 😆 😆 😆

Holly and her father walk down the aisle.

An essential wedding video shot - Carl watches as his bride walks down the aisle.

The guests were supposed to throw the flower petals as Holly and Carl walked back down the aisle. But no one got the memo and the flowers went unused... untill Chris Stanley and I found a great use for them in the big group photo!

Holly and Carl had Chris Stanley of Focus Photography.  Chris and I have worked together a few times now and it’s been a real privilege to shoot alongside someone with such a keen eye for great light and colour. I knew he would be taking us somewhere amazing when it came to the photoshoot and he didn’t disappoint. The colours and tones of a simple country driveway surrounded by lots of tall trees was the perfect location for Holly and Carl’s bridal party photoshoot.

Holly is given a mighty great hug by one of her bridesmaids while Chris takes a few portrait photos.

I love moments like this. Totally candid. Totally natural.

I love Holly’s dress.

Just another shot of Holly looking stunning.

A great moment where Carl gets Holly to laugh and smile

Holly and Carl’s Wedding day was a joy to shoot. I’m always happy to hit the road especially for Timaru  which has some really fantastic countryside that’s only a short drive from the city.

Thanks for having me!

Cheers
