Caroline & Craig's Last Minute Next Day Edit
With only 10 days to go before their Wedding, Caroline and Craig got in touch and booked me in to capture their day. By their own admission they had had a last minute change of heart and Caroline had decided she wanted the day captured in video.
I met with them and we quickly got everything set in place. Because their whole day was planned out and ready to go, all they had to do was give me a few key details and I was ready to shoot.
Watch the finished film here. After that I'll break down a few of my favourite shots.
As with all my wedding services my focus is capturing great moments beautifully. For a Next Day Edit the best shots will be set to a song chosen by the bride and groom. I begin editing immediately - so there’s a great wedding video to watch and share first thing the very next day. I also capture the Ceremony, Speeches and First Dance in full to edit later on.
Back to Caroline and Craig's Next Day Edit.
The video opens with one of my favourite shots to get - closeups of the Wedding Rings.
This shot is so good and so perfectly timed that it almost looks staged. Craig tells a joke and the guys fall about laughing. It's scary how perfect the timing is between the moment and my camera move. It’s a good feeling when you get a shot that you know instantly will be in the final video.
Here's a delightful moment - Caroline's father hiding out in the greenhouse practising his speech. He laughed when he saw me filming. 😆 😆 😆
Caroline and her bridesmaids really getting into things and having fun with the whole day.
Dad gets a first look at his daughter. Always a touching moment.
Just another It's so perfect it feels staged moment. Caroline arrives by horse and carriage. One of the coachmen (or is it coach-people?) points to where they're going. It completes the shot with a perfect bit of movement and detail.
Caroline's wedding dress moves beautifully in the wind - did I mention that it was incredibly windy on the day!
This is my favourite moment from the Ceremony and it happened very early on. Caroline looks up at Craig with a smile bursting off her face. Craig looks back I think as if to say, 'yep, it's happening!' Only Caroline and Craig can say what was going through their minds at the time but it’s clearly a great moment to include.
After the Ceremony, while the family photos were being taken, I got some candid shots of the guests taking in the day.
The Next Day Edit allows me to react spontaneously as the day unfolds. This shot is a great example of that. It's a bit abstract, but it's a cool way to detail the horse and carriage. To get the shot I had to run alongside the carriage. 😁
Craig gives the horse a goodbye kiss. I was rolling and captured this beauty of a shot. 😆
😂 😂 😂
🥰🥰🥰I found an angle that took advantage of the branches blowing in the wind.
I love the dancing, it’s all movement and colour. I got a great shot that sweeps across everyone just going for it!
Great shot to finish the video on - Caroline’s flowers draped across Craig's shoulders.
I edited Caroline and Craig’s video that night and sent it through for them to watch the next day.
Here's the review Caroline gave me on Facebook 😁😁😁
Caroline also told me this in an email
'you were a total pleasure to deal with and the video is incredible, so many comments and many happy tears!! I am totally in love with the video and so is Craig!!!’
And then this a few days later 🥰🥰🥰
'Craig loves the video, you totally won him over, he was in the why are we getting a video camp, then I busted him watching it on the sly the other day!!’
I was beaming all day after hearing that.
